Frequently asked questions

Everything worth knowing about how GYMNEAR.IN puts gym prices together.

What does the all-in price mean?

The advertised rate plus everything a gym adds on top before you can train — joining or admission fee, locker charge, card fee, and GST where the gym charges it separately. One-time fees are spread across twelve months so a ₹1,000 joining fee shows up as roughly ₹83 a month rather than disappearing from the comparison.

We list the joining fee on its own as well, because most gyms waive it during an offer and you should be able to see what changes if they do.

Why is the annual plan shown as a monthly number?

Because almost nobody in India buys a gym membership by the month, and a ₹14,000 yearly plan can't be compared against a ₹1,500 monthly one as written. We divide the annual price by twelve so the two sit side by side honestly. The full amount you actually pay upfront is on the gym's own page.

Why do some listings show a per-session price instead of a monthly one?

Studios that sell classes rather than memberships — most Pilates, boxing, CrossFit and HYROX places — price by the session or by a pack of sessions. Forcing that into a monthly figure would invent a number nobody is charged. Those listings show the per-session or per-pack rate, and the pack size it assumes.

Where does the pricing data come from?

The gym's own rate card: its website, its app, its Instagram or WhatsApp price list, or the printed card at the front desk. Where a gym won't quote a price without a walk-in, we note that instead of guessing.

We don't publish a number a gym hasn't actually put in writing somewhere.

How often is it updated?

We re-check prices on a rolling basis and each listing carries the date it was last verified. Offers in India move fast — Republic Day, New Year and end-of-quarter discounts especially — so anything we haven't confirmed recently is flagged rather than left looking current.

A price here is wrong. How do I get it fixed?

Tell us and we'll re-check it against the gym's rate card. If you run the gym, the gym owners page is the faster route — you can correct pricing and claim the listing from there.

How do equipment and amenity details get verified?

Anything submitted by a visitor is checked against photos, the gym's own listing, or a visit before it goes live. Claims we can't confirm don't get published. Equipment entries are recorded as facts — plate-loaded machines, lifting platforms, sled track, functional turf — not opinions, so there's something concrete to check.

How long do contributions take to appear?

Usually a couple of days, since each one is checked by hand. Straightforward corrections like a changed monthly rate go up faster than a full equipment list.

Is the data free to use?

Free to browse, always, and free for gyms to be listed on — a gym doesn't pay to appear here and can't pay to be removed from a comparison. If you want to reuse the data somewhere else, get in touch first.
